Aero Precision Adjustable Gas Block

Aero Precision’s new adjustable gas blocks come in all standard AR-15 gas block sizes, and fit under free-float handguards. The gas block attaches to the barrel using the included set screws, and work with regular AR-15 gas tubes. Once installed, you can easily adjust the rifle’s gas flow from the forward adjustment screw, with 15 settings of positive, audible clicks.

Will this fit under my free float handguard?

These gas blocks are especially designed to fit under slim free-float handguards. Since the adjustment hardware is forward of the gas block, the profile remains slimmer compared to other gas blocks. The AT3 SPEAR M-LOK Rail and Quad Rail, the Aero ATLAS S-One and R-One, and more will work great with these gas blocks. If you’re unsure of the fit, just reach out to us so we can assist you!

How To Install the Aero Adjustable Gas Block

First, you’ll need to remove your standard gas block and tube from your rifle. Slide the Aero Adjustable Gas Block onto your barrel, and align it over with your barrel’s gas port. Then, secure the set screws at the bottom to the barrel, tightening to 30 inch pounds. For extra security, apply a small amount of high-temperature threadlocker to the bottom set screws.

Note: Do not use threadlocker of any kind on the gas block adjustment screw. Only use threadlocker on the set screws that attach the gas block to the barrel.

After the threadlocker cures, secure your gas tube to the gas block with a roll pin. For more info on how to set up your gas block at the range, check out this guide to installing and tuning your gas block.

nice gas block with a design flaw

I really liked the features for this gas block, so I bought this for my heavy barrel 24" AR15. The reason I bought the GB was for running the gun suppressed without getting a ton of gasses in my face. The good thing is that while suppressed it solved the gas in the face problem. The bad thing is that unsuppesed, even on the wide open setting, it's not passing enough gas to cycle the bolt.

I'm sure it works for some guns in specific configurations, however it does not work for a rifle length gas system with a A1 stock and buffer, in my case. I will try a weaker buffer spring and see if that let's the gun cycle unsuppressed.

My recommendation to the Mfg is to provide a list of firearms this gasblock was tested on and the firearm's configuration for customers.
